Coordinator workshop

Wärtsilä is leading the maritime industry's transformation towards a decarbonised and sustainable future. We at Wärtsilä Marine Power are proud to offer our customers the world's widest network of maritime expertise and the full portfolio from engines to lifecycle solutions.
We want to change the course towards an interconnected and cleaner maritime future and are constantly on the lookout for future-oriented talent to join our team and to work towards enabling sustainable societies through innovation in technology and services - together. Are you ready to jump onboard?

What will you be doing

In this position, your work will include all the coordination tasks of the workshop orders and projects in close cooperation with the workshop team (internal) and the customer (external). On a typical day, you might be starting with project transfer meeting of a new project with the project team and end the day with the preparations of an urgent overhaul that is coming to the workshop. You will not be working on this alone, even though the work requires a high level of independency, as you will have the support of the foreman, quality engineer, purchaser, workshop administration and workshop manager.
For us to be the best match, we expect you to have a solid understanding of mechanical installations, their technical drawings and assembly activities. As an ideal candidate, you have gained experience in the maritime sector and knowledge of maintenance on board of ships and during drydocking. For you to succeed in the position, we hope you to have the skill to manage different orders/projects simultaneously.

As Workshop Coordinator, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

- Support the sales department in workshop related quotations, especially for non-standard jobs, both in pricing/cost estimation and planning
- Coordinating the order process after receipt of the Purchase Order or Project Handover until completion
- Planning of workshop orders and keeping up with the progress

- Participate in the planning meetings with the workshop team
- Handle communication with external and internal customers
- Managing rental of toolboxes for the Field Service colleagues or other Wärtsilä workshops

To be successful in this role, we expect you to be:

- Accountable for your tasks and responsibilities
- Collaborative team player, who engages with others to deliver results
- Multi-tasker, comfortable juggling multiple projects and maintaining momentum

- High attention to detail with a methodical & practical approach to solving problems
- Flexible approach to work, customer service mindset
- Fluent in Dutch and good proficiency in English

- There will be regularly overtime and sometimes weekend work required for which we offer compensation.

We at Wärtsilä believe in empowerment, ownership and taking responsibility of our work. We support each other's growth and co-creation is the true basis of our innovation. We have courage to see opportunities and take initiative.
We are authentic and honest, and we strongly believe in a diverse and inclusive work community where everyone can be their true self. We want everyone to voice their opinions freely. That is why we have built an environment that empowers you and everyone around you, and where you can feel safe and cared for. Are you eager to be part of this ambition?

We have an amazing team, and we are excited about our work and the impact it has on building sustainable societies. We are looking to find a colleague with this shared passion for smart technologies and a sustainable future. The work in our team offers a wide range of interesting projects and we truly have a great team spirit. We hope to find a team member who shares the same passion we have and we are excited to get our new team member onboard.

Does this sound like the job for you? If yes, we hope to hear from you before the application deadline 19th of June, through submitting your application through our career portal. We aim to keep you updated on the process all the way.
At Wärtsilä we value, respect and embrace all our differences, and are committed to diversity, inclusion and equal employment opportunities; everyone can be their true self and succeed based on their job-relevant merits and abilities.
